Brandon Knight to.. Kentucky

Brandon Knight, the point guard from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. who is the nation’s top high school basketball player, announced Wednesday afternoon he would attend Kentucky.

Knight was also considering UConn, Syracuse, Kansas and Florida.

“I just felt it was a program with great players, a great environment and a place I could elevate my game,” Knight said of Kentucky in a news conference carried by ESPNU.

It had been long rumored that Knight would join Kentucky but he said he wasn’t sure for most of the recruiting process.

“All the other schools were great places to go and had great things to offer,” Knight said.

The Huskies still hope to land another player, perhaps Cory Joseph, perhaps Josh Selby, and Knight’s commitment will likely start a chain reaction of commitments from the nation’s top unsigned players.
